Detailing goes beyond a standard wash. It involves a systematic approach to safely deep-clean the vehicle, remove embedded contaminants, and carefully assess the condition of the paintwork.
Paint Decontamination
Even after a thorough wash, paint can feel rough to the touch. This is due to bonded contaminants that normal washing cannot remove.
- Iron Fallout: Tiny particles of brake dust or industrial fallout that embed into the clear coat. Removed using dedicated iron dissolving chemicals.
- Tar & Sap: Stubborn sticky deposits from summer roads or parking under trees. Removed using safe tar dissolvers.
- Clay Bar Treatment: A physical decontamination step using detailing clay and lubrication to gently lift remaining bonded particles, leaving the paint glass-smooth.
Inspection & Enhancement
Once perfectly clean, the true condition of the paint is revealed under inspection lighting. We can then discuss realistic enhancement options.
Assessment
Checking paint depth and identifying swirl marks, wash marring, or light scratches. Recommendations depend heavily on the vehicle's specific condition.
Machine Polishing
Optional single or multi-stage machine polishing *can help* reduce the appearance of minor defects and improve gloss. We do not guarantee a "perfect" or "showroom" finish, as clear coat thickness and damage severity vary.
Managing Expectations
Deep scratches that can be felt with a fingernail usually cannot be polished out safely. Polishing is about significant improvement, not always complete perfection.
